John W. Ogle

John always had a great smile and something nice to say about everyone.

He was an amazing teacher. He had a good soul and he stood up for what was right. I will never forget him.

Belated condolences to the family of a man who was pure light in the darkest moments of my childhood. As I was experiencing abuse at home, Mr. Ogle made it a safe and happy haven to come to school. I cannot thank him enough for the positive and unforgettable impact he had in my life. My regrets after learning of his passing when searching for a way to thank him directly. I hope his loved ones read this and smile for how blessed they were to have him in their lives. As was I. Forever with a grateful heart.

I just heard about John's untimely passing. I do know what you are going through.
I have such fond memories of our days at Lincoln School. He was such a positive presence there and much loved by students and faculty.

We were truly shocked and saddened when we learned of John's passing. Our hearts are with you during this difficult time. There is no doubt John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

R.I.P. Johnny, you were always one of my favorite teachers even if you weren't my cousin. So many memories in school and out, I'll always remember our crazy Christmas parties, the wanted poster you made up for Eva "granny boom boom" our very amateur rendition of the 12 days of Christmas and just all the fun times. It's hard to believe you're gone but the memories will live on

So saddened by the news of Mr. Ogle's passing. He was my 5th grade teacher at Bradley School. I remember him with great fondness and admiration. In fact, he was my favorite teacher. He and I were great hockey fans and we talked a lot about the NHL games. If I remember correctly, he was a Bruins fan and I was a Rangers fan. He always had a smile and genuinely cared for his students. He made learning fun! My sincere condolences to his family.

John was a wonderful educator, man, and human being. My children were blessed to have him as a teacher. He truly influenced my oldest daughter's decision to be a teacher. When my youngest daughter developed medical issues at the beginning of her 5th grade John, Linda, and Stacey took her under their wings and kept her safe and sound and she thrived! He made our PTO meetings exciting and challenged us Parents to always keep the kids first. I will be forever grateful to have met him and had him in my children's lives. We love you John Ogle! The impact that people have on others' lives is really why we are all here. Mr. Ogle was able to do that- be impactful in such a positive way. Whether it was as a teacher, a coach, Mr. O was one of the most positive role models in Derby.

Thank you to his son and daughter for sharing their Dad with the thousands of kids who also became better people because of John Ogle. Prayers with you all.

We are shocked and can not believe it. He was our angel from heaven and helped us during toughest time of our life when we just moved to Connecticut and our kids had their first experience in an USA school. He helped Niloufar to have a very successful year that year and we never ever will forget his kindnes. He was a real human a great teacher and a role model.
He was our angel and he is in heaven now.

Mr. Ogle was a wonderful teacher and a truly kind human being. Even though it was years ago, his memory has always been with me and will forever stay in my heart. My deepest condolences to the entire Ogle family. Mr. Ogle was our first male teacher at Lincoln School so we weren't sure exactly what to expect at our young ages. What we got was a man who epitomized the term "educator". Mr. Ogle was a wonderful man and I had the pleasure of seeing him from time to time when visiting my Mother since his cousin Buddy lives next door. The last time I saw Mr. Ogle he was very interested in what I was doing with my life. He said that he was very proud of me and I'll never forget when he said that nothing is more satisfying to a teacher than to see his or her former students go on to become successful adults. Elementary school is such a pivotal time in our lives and I'm extremely greatful that Mr. Ogle played such an important role in mine. May you rest in peace and thank you for touching all of our lives.

Mr. Ogle was my favorite teacher in grade school. He really cared about his students. I pray for God's peace for his family!!! RIP Mr. Ogle!

Mr Ogle was a great teacher. Between the clip of the week or allowing us to bring records into class, Mr Ogle knew how to keep his students engaged. My deepest condolences to the entire Ogle family.

This is sad news. Mr. Ogle was one of my favorite teachers in grade school. He was a caring man who went out of his way for his students. He always said Marci. .. just smile and always give it everything you got. My heart goes out to his family.

Some of my best memories of childhood include Mr. Ogle's summer basketball camp. He was such a kind and considerate man. May he rest in peace.
