What memory comes to mind about John, my brother-in-law. I recall the first time I met John. He had come to visit us in Pittsburgh at the house 2021 Plainview Avenue. He needed to take a shower, for what reason I don't recall. But we had put up a shower in the basement under the steps. John seemed to roll with whatever was happening. I imagine there were things he didn't do, but he lived an ordinary life, respectful of others, and of himself. Love you, John.

I'm deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Ohl's passing. His 1993 class on the history of the Great Depression was by far the most rewarding class I have ever taken and had a positive effect on me going forward. God has blessed those lives he has touched.

I will miss most my times with John and our other brother-in-law Gerrit from the Netherlands when we would be at Cardamone-Ohl family gatherings solving the problems of the world while our wives were off doing their family thing.

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

I worked at the MCC Library for many years and always enjoyed the times when he stopped by!! Such a wealth of knowledge and humor! Please accept my sympathies.

John was a sweet man and always giving of his knowledge in so many areas. I remember when my sister brought him to our home for the first time. He did a good job of holding his own in the midst of so many of us. I remember going to the movies with John to see Dirty Harry and Steve McQueen movies. He was a good brother-in-law. I'll think of John often but especially on Groundhog's Day and Christmas. We'll all miss him..

John was my history professor at MCC many years ago and turned me on to some of the best books I've ever read. I learned so much from him. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. 69 is young to die. I will never forget him. My deepest sympathy to his family for their loss.
