John Daniel "Dan", Pagni 60, of Wethersfield, husband of Andrea Autorino Pagni, D.V.M., died peacefully Saturday November 11, 2017 at home surrounded by his family and his pets. Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marilyn (Beam) Pagni and lived in Wethersfield since 1987. He was employed for twenty years at Double A Veterinary Hospital in Wethersfield. In his earlier career he owned and operated his own hair salon. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by the greatest joys of his life, his two sons, Sam and Anthony Pagni, his brother and sister-in-law, Randy & Gwen Pagni and his sister and brother-in-law, Dede and Dennis Jordan in Florida, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony D. and Betty (Petrini) Autorino of Farmington, his extended family, Anthony D. Autorino, Jr., Lynn and Scott English, Fred and Renee Autorino, Paul Barry, Joseph and Leslie Petrini, Lisa Petrini and many other loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, Jim Pagni and Kathy Ann Autorino, his mother-in-law, Carol (Ferrara) Autorino, his uncle Mark Autorino and his step-brother, Peter Petrini. Dan above all, enjoyed the love, comfort and laughter of family and friends. He had a lifelong love of the beach and all the joys the ocean. He loved fishing, riding his jet ski, boating and crabbing with his boys. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at St. Francis Oncology Group especially Dr. Alessia Donadio and nurse Kim Hull. The funeral is Wednesday November 15th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield. Please assemble directly at the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield. Dear Andrea and Family,

I was so sorry to read of Dan's passing. He was taken from us far too soon.

Every time I saw Dan he made me laugh. I first met him when I worked at the bank and would see him around town after I left. He had a zest for life not easily matched by anyone else. As strong as his zest for life was, his love for you and the boys was even stronger.

Though Dan passed at a young age I can honestly say that Dan did not waste any of the time that God gave him here on this earth. I realize there will be a void in your lives not easily filled. However, the short years you had with Dan were filled with a love that could not be matched by someone who lived to be 100.

I know that Dan is with your mother and other family members who have passed before him. I can picture them all laughing and sitting on a beach.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers at this difficult time.

Andrea , I know now after 39 years of contracting that my most memorable, special and cherished project will be installing your backsplash ..You were away for a few days so it was just Dan and I . We shared every emotion possible in that short time.Although much time would sometimes pass between seeing each other, I could always count on Dan's humor and kind demeanor as though I was part of his family. Dan and I are cut from the same cloth and I will honor him daily by LOVING MY FAMILY UNCONDITIONALLY AND NEVER TAKING LIFE TOO SERIOUSLY!
