John stepped in and was a father to me since I was 12 years old (17 year). He always mentored me and protected me, even when I was faced down by people who didn´t see the potential I had. There was not one event that I was part of (while going through school) that he missed. Sporting events and singing competitions he was there for it all pushing me to the best in everything that I did. Small talks with him and he´s two friends Don and Paul telling me military stories were some of the biggest highlights of my childhood. Hearing them all talking about these stories lead me to join in his footsteps, encouraging me as I served in the military just like he did. John wasn´t just a man to me he was my father and whenever I wasn´t gone I would call message him and let him know, I love him for the support he gave me and I wouldn´t be the man I am today. The only regret I have is my son won´t get to meet him and my daughter won´t she him again. Not getting to share the same experiences I had with a great man in life. I love you old man, I´ll see when I when it is my time to go, I only hope I can be half the man and father you were to me.
