The person writing this would not have been the same without you. You helped me realise that we need to take what we have and form it into what we want. You showed me the real world and not the paradise that i glazed harsh realities with. I miss you beyond belief.

David has been in the background of our lives for all his 19 years, plus the time that Susan, pregnant, sat in our sitting room in Hackney, explaining about twins before we went to see tall ships on the Thames. Skating, drawing, skateboarding, filming - a wonderful film on youtube - seemingly always on the move, in news from here, there, Australia, Cambridge and Oxford. It's very, very hard to deal with this. Those whom the gods love?

We met you and your brother Hugh a long time ago, on the shores of Lake Mindemoya in northern Ontario; with your Mom Susan and your Dad Philip. Our son Pierre laughed with you, swam with you, played with you and your brother and we thought you were such a funny and absolutely adorable young boy. We will miss you David - we will never, ever forget your impish smile and the twinkle in your eyes. Rest in peace David - you will be missed.
