I was saddened when I heard about John Parham passing. I have been on the road since April with no computer access. My condolences and prayers to Jill, Zach and the entire JP Cycle family. John was the entrepreneur of mail order motorcycling parts and accessories, before the Internet .His start at the Swap meets enabled him make to make the motorcycle community his passion to keep bikers on the road and respected. John and Jill supported the Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade and aided us in becoming World Renown.
Upon his starting the World’s Largest Motorcycle Swap aka JPCycle Swap meet and Motorcycle Show at the McCormick Place in Chicago, our relationship grew with him there. They sponsored our Sturgis Vacation Raffle Trip there every year. The winner was awarded a trip to Sturgis, rooms and racing event tickets paid for by them. It became a feature at the Swap Meet and aided us tremendously. Not only financially, but created a tremendous amount of awareness of the good deeds that bikers do. It was with John and Jill’s support that our reputation grew to aid needy children at Christmas time. The Motorcycle parade started in 1978 with 1 bike and a van full of toys, it now has had over 40,000 motorcycles in the Parade on the First Sunday in December. This could not have happened without the support they gave us every year at the World’s Largest Motorcycle Swap meet, known as the JP Super Cycle Show. This is what John did and ever so humbly. His silent dedication to aid others benevolently, and his generosity, came from his heart. One year actually when he owned Asphalt Angels (One of the First Women’s Biker Magazines). Their president had asked if I could get some door prizes for their ride in Sturgis.I was a buyer back than at JC Whitney, who had a small motorcycle catalog. John graciously allowed our catalogs and door prizes to be there, to aid the ladie sride. I will never forget when he said “There is enough room for everyone in Sturgis, especially if you’re aiding others.” He passionately aided many others besides us in the motorcycling community because he truly cared. Through the years, he enabled hundreds of thousands of bikers to become lifelong friends!
John did love the motorcycle community, he helped build nationwide the gatherings of bikers at Laconia, Sturgis and Daytona. You knew when on the road, if your bike had a problem, JP Cycle was there to assist you via parts and or service. He built an amazing Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa,Iowa. He truly lived what he loved, the motorcycle community which he helped build!
His kindness and aiding us for nearly 40 years via the Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade, will never be forgotten especially among the senior and old school members. In life, it not how long you live in your life, but how you lived your life! John and The Parham’s live their life supporting, aiding, servicing us in the Motorcycle Community in many ways and will not be forgotten. They will always be lifelong Motorcycling friends!
May he now rest in Peace from his longtime illness, and may the Blue Skies above, be comforting with a true motorcycle enthusiast that deserves to be there .His ride now has not ended, as his new ride needs no parts, as he is among other good people aka bikers, that he had made life long Motorcycle Enthusiast and has now met again in the Heavens above. God Bless the Parham’s family.
The Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade offer their condolences and will never forget his enabling us to become recognized Worldly.
Sincerely, a longtime volunteer and former VP and President.

I first met him (over the phone) 20+ years ago, and saw him every year at Davenport, over the Labor Day weekend. Our swap spaces are right across the aisle from J&P's, and we looked forward to saying "Hi" every Fall. He was very knowledgeable about motorcycles, and was a truly nice man. My most sincere condolences to his family, and to his friends everywhere.

We never knew John Parham personally, but watching the show of the Pickers from LeClaire, Iowa as Mike and Frank interfaced with John made us want to know him closer and view his motorcycle achievements. We planned to make a trip to the motorcycle museum in Anamosa, Iowa as we felt intrigued to meet this man who had created such an opportunity to visit the past motorcycle evolution. However, as we are planning this trip today we came across the news of John's passing which has saddened us so much. We wanted to offer our deepest sympathy to John's family as we know how short our lives can be on this earth. But, we feel John had to love what he did and we will still make the journey to the museum to enjoy the great beauty he has created in Iowa.

John will always be remembered as a GREAT guy who never forgot where he came from. Remember him selling parts out of the back of his van. So glad he made it, of course, we know having Jill by his side was a great help to him. Many thanks for all the love you shared and showed to people!! Peace and Prayers!! Kev and Elaine

Dawn and I send our condolences to Jill, Zach & Bree, and their children. We lost a good caring man, but rest assured he is now enjoying some of the finest riding he's ever had. He touched many, influenced even more, and served his fellow man with honor. RIP John.
