John Arthur Parsons, 69, of Eureka, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his home.
John was born September 26, 1954, in Peoria, IL to Garland and Lois (Armstrong) Parsons.
He is survived by two children; Jamie (Aaron) Keiser of Michigan and Stacy (Brian) Hornbacker of Bloomington. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Emmersyn, Haybee, Chloe, Emily, and Chad.
Growing up in Eureka, John enjoyed hunting with his dad. As an adult, he trained in Martial Arts and received his black belt. He enjoyed drawing and artwork and was gifted in this area. He graduated from Greenville University in 1976 with a degree in art, then pursued a career in that field. He was an amazing artist and established his own business which progressed to him doing professional artwork all across the United States, running his business from home. He did drawings for famous actors, including Clint Eastwood, and professional sports teams.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Eureka followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. There will be a private burial service.
