just read about john, used to skydive with him back in 1978 and then from 82-85, fun times back then. back in the gold stream valley. had some great times, he used to jump his terydactil chute. he was the only one with the balls to do so, or crazy enough. blue skies john,,,

Wow, I can't believe John has moved on. He was one of my skydiving mentors in the late 70's. I will alway have fond memories of those days. We shared a lot of good times back then. He was one of the good guys and he will be missed

I was saddened to hear of John's passing. He was one tough Alaskan. I spent many nightshifts at the refinery with John listening to his mushing and Nam stories.

I skydived with John for over 30 years. I helped him train his dogs for six years in a row for the Yukon quest. I also helped him build or built meaning finished two different cabins. John and I shared many memories of the war in Vietnam. He also taught my wife had a skydive. And was the reason I started sport skydiving myself.
He was a very good close friend for many years, and he will be missed greatly.

Shared many a beer and a laugh at Ivory's with you. Happy trails musher.

John Peep, what a legend of the Goldstream Valley. A real mountain man, and all around good guy.Served his country without complaint, built a hand-scribed log home, the first of our hippie gang to buy a new truck, thanks to scoring a great job, carried his weight in any conversation, and would stop to help a fellow traveler if needed. He left big shoes to fill. A ready smile, a firm handshake, a quick joke or a sharp observation, he's the only guy I know who could bluff his way into a Tarantino movie, and make it better. God Bless you, John. You will be missed.

I met John in 1992 as Business manager for the Yukon Quest. I remember him as bieng a vibrant person with need to chalenge himself. He ran the 1993 Quest. He was an Alaskan Dog Musher.

I will miss sitting across the breakfast table with you at the exploration camp, having coffee and reminiscing about the day and all the things we've done in our lives. I will definitely miss seeing you at the Nordale Chena River Bridge where we would spontaneously meet in February when the Quest mushers start their runs. God Speed John You lead an amazing life full adventures.

John helped us with a big claimstaking project about 6 years ago. He was terrific. I didn't really know him, but we share friends. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He lived a big life.
