John Perry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2005.
PERRY, John Richard It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Richard Perry of Belleisle Creek, NB. John Passed away peacefully at home on August 13th, 2005 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Saint John, NB on February 27, 1946 and was the son of the late Frederick Ward Perry and Jennie (Fanjoy) Perry. John was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Perry and his son Gordon of Winnipeg, Manitoba. John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He especially loved to follow his son around Canada, to various Highland Games, so he could watch him compete in bagpipe competitions. John always volunteered his time to various organizations including the Edmonton Food Bank, Scouts Canada and the Canadian Cadet Movement. John was a professional driver during his lifetime, having been employed by M & D Transport and S.M.T, while residing in Saint John, NB. He relocated to Edmonton, Alberta in 1978 and was employed as a driver with Greyhound Lines of Canada. John loved to travel and was especially fond of people, so his chosen career was one that he embraced each day. Upon retirement, John and his wife returned to New Brunswick, in June 2004, and settled in Belleisle Creek. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home in Sussex, New Brunswick. www.wallacefuneralhome.com

I worked with John at SMT in NB and in 1976 moved to Alberta. When Joh came to Alberta in 1978, he stayed for a time with me. We were friends. John was such a wonderful guy. I will always remember the fun we had together on several bus charters we drove together when with SMT in good old NB. I will miss him. My condolences to his family.
