John, you were small in stature but larger than life in love, family, spirit and dedication to your beloved country. I had the distinct honor of accompanying you as your Guardian to Washington DC for your Honor Flight, September 2015. It was wonderful to be by your side, and listen to stories of your life and your service. I gained more than I gave and I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. I fully know and trust that you are enjoying heaven and the rewards of a life well lived. God Bless you and the wonderful family you leave behind to mourn your loss. You will never be forgotten. Memories are pictures taken by the heart!

John was small in stature, but large in love and generosity and spirit. I had the great fortune to be his "Guardian" during his September 2015 Honor Flight to Washington DC. I received much more than I gave, and it is a day I will remember always. John was a wonderfully engaged, vibrant and spirited man. His love of family and country was evident in everything I saw and heard. Love to his family who will miss his bright smile but the memories will last forever. God Bless you John. Clarice Yenor

John - Your Son

I miss you dad. You made me what I am today - although I always joked it was you and Robert Heinlein, you set the living example. You taught me to be a self-sufficient adult, depending only on myself to support my family. I thank you for your love, but I thank you most 'for the times that you got tough, and it seems to me I never said I love you near enough'(D. Fogelberg, 'Leader of the Band').

John leaves a wonderful legacy. He was a very honorable man who loved his family dearly. Our family loved him and enjoyed sitting with him and listening to his loving memories of his family and stories of his military life and his teaching memories. We love you "Dad John" and will miss you. Rest in peace.
