What a great person! He was always interested in listening to what you were doing in life and his smile was so infectious, you just could not help but smile yourself.
I have fond memories of John and Kitty coming to Marshall, MN to hunt the "rare" pheasant, lots of walking in the corn rows, few birds, but no complaints from John. He just enjoyed being with his "Marshall" friends.
My condolences to the Pillsbury family. May the memory of John fill you with happiness.

I met Mr. Pillsbury in 2001 while continuing my research for a Catalogue Raisonne on all the sculptures of Harry Bertoia. Mr. Pillsbury with Minuro Yamasaki, commissioned Bertoia to do the Sunlit Straw sculpture in the lobby of NWNL's new building in 1964. He told me stories of his involvement in this process and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his experience. He seemed a man with a joy for life. I've thought of him often. Regards to the family.

To the Family,
The Bible says: " A good name at the time of ones death is better than a good name at the time of ones birth." Hence, reflecting on Mr. Pillsburys' life and accomplishments one would have to agree. May his memory comfort you as well as GOD's Scriptures. A few Scriptures of hope and comfort Psalms 55:22 and John 11:25.
