John Podolsky Obituary
John has many nephews and nieces for whom he was a significant mentor and confidant. He has a large extended family and many friends, with whom he maintained close relationships. He was a vibrant and dignified man who loved life. He loved and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, family and his friends. Our John was a passionate, fun-loving, gregarious, humorous, kind, generous, and loyal man. John's loyalty and responsibility to family, friends, church and community were paramount. He loved world history, politics, and delved into his ancestry. He had deep rooted concerns for Canada, it's future and world affairs.
John built and maintained his business Podolsky Inc. for many years. He forged strong relationships with his customers and suppliers and was devoted to his employees and their families.
John loved nature, spending time at the cottage, entertaining, storytelling and creating adventures. He had the ability to create magic and wonderment out of the smallest, most insignificant moments. His unique personality and creativity developed a lasting legacy for everyone he knew. John was a pillar for his family and community offering life lessons to everyone he encountered. He was deeply devoted to his faith, children and grandchildren, and we will miss him dearly.
Evening prayers were held on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 7:00 pm and the funeral service on Friday July 24, 2015 at 10:30 am at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2C 1E4
In John's memory, donations may be made to All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

I didn't know your dad well, but when my grandmother died he hosted us at his cabin. He was very gracious and helpful at a time of need. He definitely left an impression. So sorry to hear this news. My condolences.

I looked forward to every time we got together! While John and I both went to Churchill High School in Winnipeg at the same time, he was a little older and we only shared a few common friends, places and experiences from that experience. As a long-term client of my firm, however, we became great friends and laughed, philosophized and shared insights. When he sold the business and we stopped working together, the personal loss of contact was much more deeply felt than any revenue loss. I thought of him often and, sadly, hadn't been in touch for longer than we should have. Another lesson, and a very tragic one, that John has taught me. Don't wait to stay in touch with the people you enjoy! My sincerest sympathy goes out to Sylvia, Jackie and Warren, Darek and all his family!
