John Depalma hired me to work with him on special projects before he started his own company, Hemodialysis Inc. He was always trying to improve the tools available for the use of nephrologists and their patients. He had an inquisitive mind and entrepreneurial spirit. Over the decade we worked together, he encouraged me to experiment with new and different techniques. He would suggest a project and I would figure out how to make it. He never interfered with my work and I eventually left to start my own business in another field. We lost touch and I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My own entrepreneurial journey, which got its start with John, is described in the Netflix movie Circus of Books. The film was made by my daughter, Rachel Mason, who showed me John´s obituary.

John was my love, life partner and soul mate of over fifty years. He was my mentor and collaborator throughout my career as an educator in the field of dialysis. He is truly missed. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." Joanne
