An outstanding lawyer. Grew up next to the Raymonds on Trowbridge in BloomfieldHills, Michigan. Mr. Raymond encouraged me to focus on tax law and take a position with the IRS. God bless him.

I have many memories of you from long ago. Such as the Winnie the Pooh sweater you brought to me when you came home from MIT.

Dear John and Family,
Your father was a grand person of a generation that made our country great. What an outstanding fine example he set for everyone.

I have wonderful memories of having brunch with my family after church with Catherine, John and the younger kids. He was a wonderful man. I know you will miss him. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am very thankful that Grandpa John is part of our family. My memories of his loving relationship with my grandmother, passion for life, and wonderful, wise life stories will be with me forever. He will be greatly missed.

I am missing the greatness of the generation which created such dynamos as John Raymond. The old ones are passing. I feel sorrow and the sweetness of my recollections of my stepfather. John had durability like no other! His persistent nature served him well in creating success and amazing longevity. John embraced the family of his second wife, Rosemary. He was always welcoming towards us and truly allowed us to feel that we had a man who was a strong and decisive character as the family patriarch. The dynastic experience of belonging to the Raymond clan via my mother
Rosemary was absolutely grand! We had gatherings, parties, and celebrations that were not only tremendously fun but imparted to all of us the idea that we were so loved and that we were part of a cherished group of people called family. I hope to continue to create this sense of treasured belonging for my family. With the passing of my mother and now her beloved husband; I know that I am one of the old ones. I aspire to shepherd my dear ones in the generous and caring manner of John Raymond. John, I will be attending mass in Sea tomorrow in your honor. I know that you will be smiling. To all the Raymond children: You are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing your father with us.

Grandpa John came into our lives with love, caring, and generosity, He treated us like his own, and he inspired us with his humor, decency, and love of Grandma Rosemary. His stories will remain with us, and we will always appreciate the love and support he gave Rosemary and our family. He is the only grandfather we ever knew on that side of the family, and he filled the position to our greatest satisfaction. His life was long and rich, and we can all take a lesson from it. We send our love, condolences and support to the family in their time of separation. There is no doubt in any of our minds that he flies directly to the light of God. John Raymond was an excellent man, and it was a privilege to have been a part of his family. We are so sorry that we couldn't attend his wake and mass. In spirit, we are with him and all the Raymond clan. We offer our prayers and thanks for the life of John Raymond. Blessed be.

I have so many fond memories of my Grandpa John, but the first thing that comes to mind when I think of him is his amazing memory. He would often tell stories that would begin "back in 1923....", and then he'd recount in great detail an event from 80 years ago. My memory is not as keen as Grandpa John’s, but still I will treasure my remembrances of him.

What I most admire about my step-father wasn't his success or position but his integrity. When my mother died in a nursing home in Seattle, he traveled all by himself (at 93) to pay his respects. We will always remember that.
