John Hessie Redfearn, 87, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on August 6, 2024. Born on April 23, 1937, in Tollison, Arizona, he was a cherished son to the late Fred and Ola Opal (Desha) Redfearn.

John dedicated over 50 years of his life to pastoral ministry as a Baptist pastor in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and California, impacting countless lives with his deep faith and unwavering commitment to serving others. He also excelled as a master carpenter, a skill that he both cherished and shared generously.

A man of many talents and passions, John was an avid fisherman and builder, always eager to spend time in nature or working on a new project. His love for his family and friends was boundless, and he was often found in the company of loved ones, sharing stories and making memories.

John attended the Trinity Baptist Church of Grove, OK.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that is carried on by his brother, Ulus Redfearn; sister, Betty Redfearn Earhart; daughters, Sandy (Fred) Howard and Dianna Yandell; grandchildren, Kelly (Drew) Martin, Joe (Amy) Yandell, and Cassie (Nate) Horath; great-grandchildren, Shelby (Ethan) Kirk, Andrew and Landon Horath, Christopher and Noelle Yandell; sister-in-law, Barbara (Bill) Davis; brother-in-law, Jim (Jean) Pinkston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Carolyn Redfearn; siblings, Wanda Fountain, Edith York, Linda Kepner Franklin, Mary Ellen Layne, and brothers, Wilburn, Fred, and Blue (Carrol) Redfearn; as well as his son-in-law, Jonathan Yandell.

Details of the memorial services are pending and will be announced at a later date. The family is being assisted by Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John may be made to the Comforting Hands Hospice of Grove, OK, honoring his compassionate spirit.
