John Reiner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 26, 2022.
John Paul Reiner, Sr. peacefully went to his heavenly home on Feb.26th, 2022 after a long illness.
John was born February 12, 1946 and was a graduate of the great class of 1964 from Taft High School, Hamilton, Ohio.
He attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio after which he joined the USAF Reserves serving 6 years.
John began his career with Ohio Casualty of Hamilton, Ohio in the insurance industry transferring to Lexington, Kentucky in 1974.
John started his own agency Bush and Boggs, later to become known as the Kentucky Insurance Group, retiring in 2006.
John met the love of his life Holly Stephenson Reiner on Thanksgiving Day, 1977. They married the following April, 1978.
John and Holly were fortunate to have traveled and enjoyed their houseboat on Lake Cumberland, eventually building a home there upon retirement where their grandkids would visit each year for "Gigi and Poppy", a much loved family tradition.
John and Holly, also, became "snowbirds" residing in Bonita Springs, Florida where they met wonderful lifetime friends and reacquainted with old ones.
For those of you who knew John you knew his quick wit, his dry sense of humor and his ability to make you laugh even in the worst of situations.
His favorite saying was "I just want to be your friend." And he was.
You always knew where you stood with John. When he loved you he loved you fiercely.
As a sincere family man John was loyal, loving and wise. When asked what he learned most through his life and that he would want to pass on, his response was simple, "Be kind". A lesson he learned later in life but one he held strong until the very end.
John was proceeded in death by his oldest brother Dave Reiner and grandson Bradley Corbin.
John is survived by his loving wife and five children - John Paul Reiner (Beth), Chris Corbin (Sarah), Robin Reiner, Tiffany Bartella (Sims) and his little Lilly, his sweet pup who sleeps on his pillow every night.
John was adored by his surving grandchildren Claire and Katie Reiner, Brooke, Benjamin and Bethany Corbin, Nick Cryer, Tristan and Payden Bartella.
He is also survived by his brother Phillip Reiner (Lynda) and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in law, sisters-in-law and friends he loved deeply.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests to make any donations to your local Humane Society or to the Wounded Warriors Project in John Reiner's honor.
