So sorry to hear about John's death. We used to share good times together with him and Carolyn.
My sincere condolences to his family. I was at the birthday party in North Portal and that may have been the last time I say him. That makes me sad.

John was the 'four leaf clover' friend, Ambassador, Diplomat, USIA Director - hard to find, lucky to have. Most of my husband's long career in USIA was while John was its Director. He will live in the memories of all FSIO career diplomats and their families. My sincere sympathy to his loving and caring family and his many friends.
