John Douglas Ringling

John Douglas Ringling, 56, of Florissant, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024. Born on March 9, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri, John was the beloved fifth child of the late William George Ringling and Patricia Elsie (nee Cabell) Ringling. He grew up surrounded by his six siblings: David (Judy), Jeffrey (Leslie), Andrew, Joseph (Dina), Gayna (Paul), and Ted Ringling, who, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, will deeply miss him.

John attended McCurdy Elementary School, Hazelwood Central High School, and later pursued further education at Florissant Valley Community College. He was a passionate musician and sound technician, and well-known within the St. Louis music community. John dedicated his career to music, often helping others improve their skills and sharing his deep knowledge of sound technology.

Beyond his professional life, John was raised attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he found spiritual solace and community. His hobbies included playing guitar, electronics, and enjoying movies and concerts, which were a significant part of his life.

John's life will be celebrated through two memorial services. A private service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 5 PM until sunset, at the Glassberg Shelter in Greensfelder Park. Additionally, a public celebration of life, featuring live music and organized by his friends and former bandmates, is set for September on a date to be announced. These events will be shared on social media platforms including Facebook.

In remembrance of John's love for animals, especially his dogs, contributions can be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis. The Shepherd Funeral Home in St. Louis, Missouri, is assisting the family during this time. John's legacy as a skilled musician, a caring brother, and a friend to many will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
