ROBERTSHAW
JOHN "JACK" A., Jr.
Age 89, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at his Ligonier home, surrounded by his family and caregivers. Born July 28, 1926, in Greensburg, the son of the late John A. and Emma Ryan Robertshaw, Jack graduated from the Lawrenceville School and Yale University and also served in the Navy. A businessman and philanthropist, Jack was a lifelong advocate for Greensburg and its surrounds. After leaving Robertshaw Control Co. as vice president of International Sales, he and the late John D. Reese partnered to buy Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Kecksburg, which grew into Laurel Group Limited, of which Jack was the chairman. At the same time, he was the chairman of the Board of Laurel Vending, Inc. Among the many boards and committees on which Jack served are the Westmoreland County Community College Foundation, the Westmoreland Trust, Excela Health, the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art and the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg. Jack was a member of both Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg and Holy Trinity church in Ligonier. He was honored to be a member of the Order of Malta as well as the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Jack's philanthropic footprint will live for decades to come. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered by his generosity, his great sense of humor and his dancing feet. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Hope. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Boulin Robertshaw, with whom he would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this year. He is survived by two brothers, William Robertshaw, of Arizona, and Frederick O. Robertshaw and his wife, Niki, of Paradise Valley, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Marie Claude Solvay, of La Hulpe, Belgium. Jack is also survived by five children, John A. Robertshaw III, of New York City, Marc B. Robertshaw and his wife, Colleen, of Rector, Christopher F. Robertshaw, of Greensburg, Lisa Moeller and her husband, Arthur, of New Florence, and Natalie Kelley and her husband, Brendan, of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren, Lauren, Lesley, Charlotte and Katherine Robertshaw, Arthur and Douglas Moeller, and Caroline and Margot Kelley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. (Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church.) Private interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., or Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601. To share a message of condolence, please visit:

We miss you at Excela Health.
You many times discussed the Robershaw plant in New Stanton which was the former farm of William Moore!

Marc,

While I had not seen your father for many years, I have many fine memories working with him and John Reese and, later, you and David, when I was Laurel's banker. I particularly remember your father's dry sense of humor that always seemed at the ready no matter what the situation. I liked him a lot.

Sincerely,

Dave Payne

I know how devastating it is to lose a loved one or Father. Though I only met him once when he came to Kiski, I remember him. My sympathies to Marc and the family.

Jack was dedicated to making Greensburg and Westmoreland County better places to live. The fruits of his philanthropic labors are evident everywhere. I knew him best for his work on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, the Greensburg Development Corporation, and the Westmoreland Historical Society, but I am aware he supported many other worthy causes. He will always be remembered by the many local buildings that bear his name. However, it should never be forgotten what a fine man he was, and how much his multitude of friends valued his wit, wisdom, and companionship. He was truly a great man, and he will be much missed by all of us.
