I was so surprised to hear of John's passing. He taught me at the Academy and the things he taught me helped me to stay alive. I am so sorry that I did not hear of this in time to make it to his celebration of life. John was one of the most significant people in my life. He will be missed. So sorry to hear the news of my fellow Cavalier's passing. And also sorry that I cannot attend the services as I am out of the country. But I am so glad and blessed to have known such a wonderful man. Prayers and well wishes to Karen and family - cherish the memories!

I grew up with Johnny Pat on Fairmont St in Harvey. Remember when Coach Bear Bryant went to the house to recruit him and Johnny Pat turned him down. Johnny Pat was as secure then in his belief of what he wanted to do as he was his entire life. Good friend and even better man.
