John Ross Obituary
ROSS John (Jack) Edward 1916-2008 Jack died peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Richmond General Hospital. Born on January 9th,1916 in Vancouver, BC. He attended UBC then Queens Medical School. After graduating, he returned to BC, first to Port Alberni to begin a medical career then Vancouver to begin a practice in Obsterics and Gynecology. Jack cared deeply about his family. He is predeceased by his wife, Mary. He is survived by daughters Elizabeth (Creston) and Kathryn (John) Prusakowski (Edmonton), grandchildren Lynda (Calgary) and Ross (Ottawa); long time family friends Stan Logan (Leslie), Heather and Bruce. Jack belonged to several organizations, the time he spent volunteering for the local scout organization was truly his favourite. A memorial service will take place at Ryerson United Church on Monday, March 10 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Mary Ross Memorial Fund c/o Ryerson United Church, 2195 W. 45 Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6M 2J2 or Scouts Canada Vancouver - Coast Region, 664 W. Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1.

Two weeks before our daughter Sarah was born , Dr Ross advised me that we may have "...built a canoe that was too big to get out of the garage." He was absolutely right. I have always treasured his humour and humanity through long and difficult pregnancy.
