Sherry and family,
I'm terribly sorry to not have been able to attend John's wake/funeral, but I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers were with you and your family. We will all miss both of your smiling faces. My condolences,
Julie

Dear Sherry and Family:
On behalf of the United Empire Loyalists' Association I want to express my condolences during this sorrowful time. While I didn't know John that well personally, I have always been inspired by his scholarly approach to the Loyalists and his dedication to the Association. This week I attended the funeral of a relative, so it is a fresh reminder of how difficult these times can be. My sympathy to you and the family.

To Sherry and family:
I was saddened to hear of John's passing. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to share in both your lives during the past year. I will always remember his dry wit and sense of humor, and your ceaseless energy and devotion to John.
