After finishing his schooling in Thomson, Illinois, he became a Law Enforcement Officer in the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Mt. Carroll as well as Chief of Police in Lanark, Illinois. John married Sheryl Dauphin on March 16, 1974, at the Thomson United Methodist in Thomson, Illinois. He loved fishing, hunting his ongoing flea market south of Savanna, phone and e-mails with his very good friend Bill Griffin of Snohomish, WA, and visits with his brother-in-law, Max Dauphin, and cousin, Steve Parsons. His sense of humor will be remembered by all. He will always be remembered as the heart and soul of our family, and his passing will leave a giant void that can never be filled.
