Kay Sweet Volz and Sue Volz Peters
June 25, 2025
To the Schramek Family,
It's June 24, 2025 and I'm sitting with my Mom, Kay Sweet Volz, who grew up in Okemos, and went to Michigan Sate with your Dad, Jack! She mentioned his name, and I figured I could search for him. Sadly, we learned that he passed in 2018. We send our warmest condolences.
Mom wants me to let you know how fondly she remembers your Dad. She knew him from his fraternity, Sigma Chi, but then she dropped out of college to marry my Dad, Don Volz, who was an Alpha Tau Omega at MSU.
Mom and Dad even ran into him in a restaurant in Woodland Hills sometime in the 1980s (?), and Mom knew instantly that he was Jack!
My Dad passed in 2020, but Mom still lives in Thousand Oaks, CA.
We send you warm wishes, and wanted to let you know that Jack is remembered!!
Blessings,
Sue Peters and Kay Sweet Volz

Dear Mrs. Schramek, Angela, Jack & Nancy,
I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Schramek's passing ... I still need to call him that after all of these years, since anything less seems disrespectful. I have so many memories of working with your husband/father all of those years at Rockwell. He was so well-respected, and he amazed me with how he could do all of his complex mathematical calculations on all of the deals we worked on throughout the years! This was before computers came into play (or were just starting to), so it was just him and his calculator! And his numbers were always right on. I would watch him walking down the hall, always with his head down, looking deep in thought. But now I think it was that he was such a humble man. I could go on and on, but don't want to take up too much space here. If you'd like to reach out to me, my email is [email protected] and my cell number is 412-401-2785. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Please take care.
