My condolences to Alice, John, Joe and Christine upon my friend Jack's passing.
I met Jack when we both started working at the General Motors Central Foundry Division, Defiance, Ohio in the early 60's.
At one point during our Manufacturing Foreman years, I switched shifts with him, so he could attend evening college classes.
Sometime later, I, with my wife Phyllis and our boys moved into the same neighborhood cul de sac about 4 houses apart, where Phyllis and Alice and our families became good friends. Even though both our families moved from the area, we maintained contact and over the years, we attended young John's and Christine's weddings, meeting both Jack and Alice's parents.
After we both retired in the 90's, our friendship continued in Florida - dinners, jazz festivals, touring.
Jack always got involved, whether volunteering at Church or taking leadership roles in his various communities.
While visiting him at Scott Lake, I was never certain that he remembered me.
But I will always remember him as being one of the most optimistic persons I've ever met. Always a bright smile and a 'glad hand'. A friend of almost 60 years.
Over the years his life has interacted positively with so many others and I know he will be greatly missed.

I never had the opportunity to meet Jack Schuldt ... but I spent a lot of time with one of his greatest legacy projects, Mr. John Schuldt. Needless to say, Jack and Alice did a wonderful job with John ... a kind, professional, hard-working, and well-mannered gentleman who is equally comfortable (and effective) making a serious sales pitch to a Ford dealer, or enjoying a nice cigar on a beautiful golf course. I can attest on the most important life scorecard that Jack and Alice are two wonderful people to have raised, nurtured, and developed a man like John Schuldt!
My deepest sympathies and condolences go out to John and his extended family during this challenging time of great loss. May the good Lord watch over all of you, comfort you, and grant you peace.
As painful as this loss is, it is reassuring to know that Jack recently heard the words we all hope to hear one day ... "welcome good and faithful servant"
