Dear Louise and Family,
So sorry to hear of John's passing recently. It just seemed like he would go on forever! I remember good times when both of our families got together years ago. Your family has always been dear to mine. We mourn your loss.

I'm thinkjing about Uncle John now after his recent passing and considering the impact he had on my life and the life of my brothers, not in terms of business accomplishments or community achievements, but as an uncle whose exuberance towards family was easily felt.

I'll remember him as fun-loving and adventurous. Some of my memories with regard to this are from decades past like his pushing a small boat into Lake Huron to catch a fish or two and pulling scrawny kids around the lake on skis--mighty fun for a young girl. And who else had a great bell that could be rung to summon kids for hot dogs and lemonade in the yard.

I'll continue...ice skates, home movies, trips to see Santa, apple picking, a house with a cool upstairs porch, and another house with a cool pool. Always a gentleman, always interested, always kind, this is where my mind wonders now.

His moral compass pointed in the right direction. It was clear to us, and this is what was most profound. It was a pleasure and priviledge having him as my uncle.
