My deepest sympathy to the family of John Sillick. I, as many, feel the loss of a dear friend. Reading John's column weekly, I felt a sense of renewal and appreciation for the simple things in life. His observations and manner in which he lived his life will inspire me always.

To the family of John Sillick:

I have never been so saddened and shocked by the passing of someone I didn't know. But of course I did know him and knew something of all of you through John. His writing was so warm and vivid and imaginative and somehow so comforting no matter what was in the rest of the paper. My deepest sympathies to you and to all of us on the loss of this remarkable man.

To the Sillick Family,

My deepest sympathy to you. I feel as though I have lost a member of my own family. I will miss his wonderful columns each week.

I consider myself blessed to have known John and his family even though it was only through his writing. May God bless you all.

Our sincere sympathies to the family of John. We loved reading about your adventures on Alps Rd. on Sunday mornings, before making our own adventures on our farm. John will be sadly missed.
