John "Jackie" Simmons

MOUNT CARMEL - John "Jackie" Simmons, 69, of 526 W. Second St., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022.

He was born in Philadelphia, Aug. 29, 1952, a son of the late Frank and Jane (Shehorn) Simmons.

Jackie was a graduate of William Tennant High School, in Philadelphia.

He was a former mechanic.

Jackie was a member of the Clover Hose Co., Mount Carmel.

He loved watching football, especially his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jackie is survived by three sisters, Jean Kramer, of Mount Carmel, Leona Chmielewski and her husband, Joe, of Mount Carmel, and Juanita Reichenbach and her husband, Michael, of Trevorton; a brother, Leroy Simmons, of Mount Carmel; a brother-in-law, Paul Vincenzes and his wife, Velvet, of Mount Carmel; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jane (Shehorn) Simmons; two brothers, Frank Simmons Jr. and Harry D. Simmons; and a sister, Jane M. Vincenzes.

SIMMONS - John "Jackie" Simmons, 69, of 526 W. Second St., Mount Carmel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4 with Pastor Patrick Ferris officiating at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
