Shocked was the first word that came to mind. I'm so sorry to hear of Johns passing and I am glad that I got to visit with him not so long ago at his shop. We came across each other on "the loop" in downtown St. Paul a very long time ago in our hot street cars. We raced under the bridge and became good freinds with a great mutual respect for each other. So many great memories at Brainerd. As so many have said - always with a smile. John came to my 40th birthday party and it was absolutely the highlight of my day and he was the first one I sent a thank you note to. Miss you my freind.

Becky and Family,

We are sorry and shocked to hear of Johns passing. He will be missed by all of his friends. I met John in the early 70's and had lots of fun, with him, in the "old days". It was nice to run into him, now and then, and reminisce. John was a great guy with a great sense of humor.

Danielle,Tiffany and Becky,
It is still a shock that John has passed. He was such a huge part of my life. We met when were 17. I have so, so many memories with him, before we were married, during, our kids being cousins, and godparents to each others daughter's, after our marriages, racing, traveling, many late night card games, Turkey Trots in Fl, helping each other out in time of need, I can go on and on, even though the last few years we didn't talk as often, he will always be my bud and close to my heart.
I love you John Simon and may you RIP
Your Bud,

I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know John through playing a small role in the Willys project. I suspect I am one of many who ended up being a good friend of Johns. To know the guy, was to love the guy. He had an eternal smile, and always loved to play a fun joke on a close buddy (Chuck still doesn't know who made that hilarious call John!) John was fiercely competitive in a very gentlemanly fashion, was an astute businessman who knew how to drive a hard bargain, but was also kind and generous to a fault. Like so many of us, he was a wonderful blend of qualities and faults...unlike so many of us, he leaves a strong legacy of being a good man with a great heart. If a man's worth is most accurately measured by his number of true friends, I am proud to say John Simon is one of the richest guys I ever had the honor to know. I'm guessing that the pearly gates of Heaven just experienced their first burn-out! E.T. now means "eternal time" John, enjoy every minute of it!

My Dad, Wayne Seelhammer, and John were great friends. I have many fond memories of the two of them playing cards in the backroom of Simon's Appliance or at the SSP Rod n' Gun Club and constantly bantering back and forth. I hope that the two of them are reunited again and up to the same routine and watching over us. My prayers, thoughts, and tears go out to his family and friends.

Becky, Danielle, Tiffany and Family - Words cannot express the sadness I feel as this news starts to sink in. In over 25 years of doing business with John I can say he was a man of his word, the best compliment any man can receive. We had our up's and down's as will happen in business, but we always agreed that we were friends no matter what happened. John, you will always be my friend and you will be greatly missed. God bless you and your family now and forever.
