John R. Smith

John (Jack) R. Smith, 92, passed away peacefully at home in Orlando, FL on November 10, 2010. He was a resident of Camp Hill, PA before residing in FL for the past 26 years. He was born in Altoona, PA, son of James H. and Mary C. on August 8, 1918. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Gertrude; his second wife, Virginia of 24 years; his son, John, Jr. and son-in-law, Jim. He is survived by sons Roy and Jim of Mechanicsburg, PA; Bob of Camp Hill, PA; and daughters, Jackie Biser of Orlando, FL; Jill Gaughan of The Woodlands, TX, and their spouses, also daughter-in-law Nancy of Orlando, FL. He has 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Jack was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4068, Camp Hill, PA. He was admired for being a loving and caring husband, father, grampy and great-grampy. He was a true gentleman and a role model not only for his family but also everyone that knew him. A memorial mass will be celebrated on December 3rd at 10 AM at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, New Cumberland, PA.
