John David Smith

John David Smith, "Dave," passed away at age 70 on Monday, October 16 with his dearest friend Lisa by his side. Dave, a longtime Plymouth resident, is survived by his daughter Megan, granddaughter Tuesday, siblings Kathy, Kim (John) and Mark, sister-in-law Susan, niece Maureen (Sam) and nephews Thom, Taylor, Tyrus, Sean (Jen) and Patrick. Self taught and trained, Dave enjoyed a successful career working in various industries applying his considerable engineering and creative skills to product design. Like many artistic contrarians, Dave attracted a number of close friends who enjoyed his humor, opinions and insight. For decades, these friends regularly met in his garage/workshop/game-room to laugh, converse, and debate. His family is especially thankful for these devoted friends who helped him through the last years of his life. He will be greatly missed.
