Ross & Shawn
I am sorry to know of your Dad's death. I worked with him at the Lockheed Credit Union. Many years after retirement, we reconnected because we live in the same area. I remember your Dad as: a dedicated husband and father; his love of Western wear; his attachment to his Ford truck and for his humor. I have many pleasant memories in having known him.

My heart goes out to you Ross and Shawn. I have fond memories of playing basketball in your driveway as a kid. Blackie was always out there giving advice and teaching us how to be better athletes. I'll never forget his famous 'Western' set shot.
He was a very kind man. He always offered words of encouragement. I remember when I first had to wear glasses, he gave me a pep talk about how George Mikan played with glasses. It made me feel better. That's the kind of man he was.

So sorry for your loss. I met Blackie about 15 years ago at Starbucks. It became a daily(morning) event that lasted for years. Our group of 2 grew to 5, there are still 4 of us that meet every morning. We all miss Blackie's humor and his outlook on life. People will come up to our group and ask about Blackie. He was a very kind and giving person, with a lot of Starbuck friends.
