STEIGERWALD JOHN PAUL
84, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at his home. Mr. Steigerwald was born February 21, 1926 in Crafton, PA and moved to Vero Beach in September of 2009 from Somerset, PA. He was of the Catholic faith and had been an analyst for the Department of State before his retirement. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Donna Steigerwald of Vero Beach; son John Steigerwald of Front Royal, VA; son Charles Steigerwald of Fairfax, VA; son Greg Steigerwald of Arlington, VA; son Jim Steigerwald of Miami, FL; daughter Nora Borne of Atlanta, GA; son Steve Steigerwald of Vero Beach; daughter Joan Grifith of Atlanta, GA; brother Wendell Steigerwald of Stuart, FL; and twenty-two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Robert Steigerwald, brothers Albert and Bill Steigerwald; and sister Betty. Services: A Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3375 20th Street, Suite 100, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Arrangements are under the direction of COX-GIFFORD-SEAWINDS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, Vero Beach, Florida. Condolences may be sent through www.seawindsfh.com/obit.php

we were the best of friends in our earlier years. Donna you know how close we were. i lost maria 4 plus years ago so i can understand how you feel. i do not believe there can ever be another quite like him. god bless him as he is in my prayers. joe ferraro
