John was a wonderful brother! I have many memories as a kid with John. I use to go out with John and Jim on Saturday night's (I always went to my mom and she would make them take me). They were good sports about it and I got see the guys with their water fall hair doo’s, the muscle cars and the dinner hops. I also remember going hunting with John. With my first shotgun. He was always willing to help me learn how to shoot and hunt since I was a beginner and very young. He was very big on safety and being an ethical hunter. When I did come out to visit he was always there and actually took me into the new jail on one of my visits. He was very proud of his accomplishments with the Sheriff’s Department. I didn’t get to spend much time with him since I moved back to California, but I will never forget the memories’. I will greatly miss him and thank God for having him in my life and the time I did get to spend with John.

John was a very caring person and would do anything for anyone. I met him in 1992 when I was on the sheriff reserves and assisted him in getting his parants out of their trailer home during the floods of 93. He was very active in our church and offered up his services as an usher on a regular basis on Saturday nights. I was shocked upon hearing the terrible news of his passing at church service tonight. May God bless him and his family.
