Rob, that was a beautiful message that you wrote for your dad. I really didn´t know him well but your writing told me stuff about your dad that I liked about him. Sorry for your pain. Take care, Patty Schnase

Jerry Stoner what a guy!!! I worked for Jerry for about 5 years and we became great friends. He was quite a character. He loved his cornhuskers and enjoyed cheering them on at Clancy´s. He loved his family. Even though we hadn´t seen each other for awhile I will miss him. Rest my friend.

Worked closely with Stoner for years along Chief Engineer row. Oh what fun. Never a dull moment around Stoner. Many of us considered Jerry a very good friend. When he left UP we lost touch except through Facebook. Please accept our sincere condolences. He sure loved his family. Talked about you all often. One of a kind. Peace and comfort be with you all.

Stoner (Jerry) and I were married for 5 years. As long as I have known him, some 55+ years, we never called each other by our first names. I was always " The Bohunk" and he was always Stoner. We had Rob and Jill together. His nickname for Rob was "Jaybird" and Jill was "Sweets Marie". Then when our grandson Jayden was born, his name for him was "small potatoes, hard to peel" that for sure was a one of a kind nickname. Stoner sure did love life, but had some health issues that he had to overcome. His heart attack, prostrate cancer, and bad car accident, then the dementia and then came the stroke. He fought long and hard these past couple of years. Stoner now it's your time to rest and enjoy this new journey with your family that has passed before you. Im sure Jill is loving that you two are together again.
Rest in Peace!

I knew Jerry for almost 55 years, but we all called him "Stoner". He was always making jokes, making funny sounds, and dancing around snapping his fingers...he was so much fun being around and made us all laugh: he had so much enthusiasm in having a good time. We all will smile when we think of Stoner and all the good times we had with him. You can now rest peacefully, my friend! Thoughts and prayers to the entire Stoner family.
