John Strack

John Joseph STRACK, born on December 8, 1959, in New York, New York passed away on April 12, 2025, in Holiday, Florida. His sudden and tragic passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

John dedicated his professional life to the railroad for Metro North. A proud union brother of ACRE, he was deeply committed to his work and the camaraderie it fostered before retiring a few years ago.

Above all else, John cherished his role as a father. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Strack, who was the light of his life. Their bond was unbreakable, forged through countless days spent together at their cherished cottage on the lake. For John, true happiness was found with a fishing rod in hand and Kelly by his side-his happy place where memories were made and peace was found. As those close to him now say with heavy hearts: he has "gone fishing in Heaven".

John's circle of love extended beyond family including lifelong friendships that spanned more than five decades. His best friends -Teddy and Ross- were more than companions; they were "Brothers for Life," affectionately calling themselves the Three Stooges. When their dear friend Sal joined them, they became the Four Musketeers-a band of brothers bound by laughter, loyalty, and unwavering support. To them John was not just a friend but a soul mate in friendship-a "ride or die" brother whose absence is deeply felt. There are too many others to mention from the epic "Five Corners" who John loved as well, that are feeling the heartbreak of his loss.

He was predeceased by his father John Strack, mother Mary Strack, brother Michael Strack, and sister Mary Strack. Their memories live on alongside John's in the hearts of those who remain.

The heartache surrounding John's passing is immense. The shock of this horrific tragedy reverberates through all who had the privilege of knowing him. His beautiful spirit touched many lives and will continue to do so through the stories shared and memories shared.
