Sally and I were saddened to learn about Jack's passing.

It was wonderful to see you and Jack last August after so many years.

Jack was my "best" man, and he was everybody's "great" man.

Jack was my supervisor at the Country Inn & Suites and truly "led by example", never having a task too little to dive right into. I admired him for that. I left for school and he went his separate path as well, not realizing we would end up seeing each other at the same mass one Christmas break. He remembered me throughout the years, even as my visits to the church became less and less, but it meant a lot that he genuinely cared to hear how my journey was going. And he was just that- a genuine man. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Jack Sturm left every place he visited a better place. He left everyone he met a better person. He left every business in which he was involved a better business. Jack loved people and cultivated them - this was his way. He had the highest level of social intelligence I've ever seen. He was the "majordomo" of the household of Carbon County and those of us who knew him know just how much positive influence he had on this beautiful place we call home.
Most of all, he adored his wife Elaine and all she is. He never missed an opportunity to mention her by name; he respected her as a wife should be respected... when she was present and when she wasn't. For me he is a role model for a man and husband.
Many people come and go through this life of ours. Jack Sturm is for me and I expect hundreds of people one that will hurt for a long time. He would want us to laugh, have a drink, and raise a glass to his life. Life won't be quite the same, Jack, but we'll carry on. You made a huge difference.
