John and I were buddies while undergrads at Emory. Such an impish personality and grin and intellectual brilliance
made him special to me. We took a philosophy course together and an American History class as well. I still have his comments written in my class notes from 1975! Such a great guy and always a gentleman. So glad to learn of his happy personal life with his family. I have missed him for years. Much love to his family. I´m sure you laughed every day!!!

My sincerest condolences to John's family. I worked with him on a few litigated matters whilst working for an insurance company. Brilliant mind, nice man.

I will miss you John. Andre Jr. misses you and he tears up knowing he will not see you here on earth ever again. Thank you for sharing your passions and love with us. Finality of
our earthly life is hard. May your sense of humor bring smiles to all you meet in heaven.

For 15 plus years, I was a legal secretary to John. He was an awesome boss, and a wonderful friend. I will love and miss you John Tollefson.

I don´t use the word friend very often. John was my friend!
We were from different sides of the isle, yet we had many fun, and respectful debates. John´s intelligence was amazing, his quest for knowledge undaunted.
His love for Bonnie, his family, the new grandchild was reinforced by the glimmer in his eye every time they were mentioned. Then there was Oscar...
John´s humor and devilish grin was so delightful. The mountain will miss him dearly, l will miss him more!
I love ya Johnny!
Your friend forever,

John was the smartest and funniest lawyer I knew. We had done a family vacation together in Durango, Colorado and went to SCOTUS together for the NCSC. We had as more laughs than drinks. I will miss John. He was so giving! He gave me so much free coverage advice that I was able to make often make payroll and pay the mortgage.

I met John in New Orleans during Ryan and Margaret´s wedding festivities. I´m pretty sure we first met in a car going to a venue, and he had me laughing the whole time. I remember thinking that he was my new favorite person in the family. What a fun and lively set of parents Margaret has! I send my love, support and prayers to the family. This is a devastating loss we all feel at some level. God will bring ya´ll closer, and give you the strength to get through together. I´m thankful to have met such an extraordinary person.

As my I think, Uncle- In-Law (?), I met John some eight years before he met my aunt Bonnie, who would become his wife. As we both rode the same school bus to the gates of Parkway West High School, John left a memorable impression. He reclined in a luxurious manner on the same back-of-the-bus seat each day (if that was possible on a hard plastic seat) as the king of highly entertaining and witty commentary that made that dreary ride a novel experience. "Wicked sense of humor" indeed! To whatever lies beyond, drum on John!
