A complex, caring, and formidable champion-of people. He championed many from all walks of life who will never forget him. Houstonians for generations to come will benefit from Jack Trotter's tireless efforts to help make our community a vibrant and energizing place to call home.

Visitors entering the inner sanctum of Mr. T's office experienced traditional southern etiquette, which is sorely missed in many of today's businesses. Always a man on a mission, it was an honor and a privilege to learn the hard way, "Never put Jack Trotter on hold."

Condolences to the Trotter family, staff, and friends. Your gentle giant leaves a lasting impression in the hearts of all who loved him.

I had the privilege of working with Jack a number of years ago, for a period of years. My memories of those times are filled with both respect and fondness, and he lives on in them. My thoughts and prayers are with you, his family.

Mr. Trotter parked right outside my office door when I worked as a parking garage manager. A nicer or sweeter man I have never meet. He will be missed because I never forgot what he did for all the workers of the garage he parked in. Virginia Barr Kemah Tx.

My husband and I got to know "T", as my daughter called him, 16 years ago as his personal trainer. Once my daughter was born in 1996, she came with me to his training sessions. He quickly became like a father to me and grandfather to her. She couldn't say Trotter so she called him "T" and the name stuck all these years. What a wonderful person he was. He showered so much love on our family. We will miss him terribly. He will always have a special place in our hearts and memories.

Dear Family Members of John Trotter,
I wish to extend my condolences to you for your loss. You as well as the City of Houston has lost a great and gallant warrior who fought for the rights and concerns of all Houstonians. I especially am thankful for his efforts in "Freedman's Man". Without his visionary help and guidance the African American community would have lost a great deal of its history. The fight continues to carry on his good works. But because he lived I have a better appreciation for service to others. May God protect and keep you all in peace and comfort in the knowledge that he he has fought the good fight, and in doing so he has kept the faith.
Prayerfully yours,
Willie Blackmon, Lt Col,USAF (Retired)
Municipal Judge (Retired)

What a kind and generous man. EHS owes its heart and soul to Jack Trotter. Another patriarch of old Houston has been delivered home.

We have never known a kinder or more generous individual than Jack Trotter. There are no words to express how our family felt about this incredible man. The world was a better place because of him. We are proud to have known him and will never forget him.

Jack was a role model for me during the years I managed the charitable contributions of The Franzheim synergy Trust.

Before I contemplated leaving residency in Houston - I turned to Jack for advice and his was invaluable.

His was a life well lived - for sure!

Jack "saved my life" on more than one occasion. He laid up a plethora of stars in heaven and God will have a special place for the most generous, humble, caring person I have ever known.
