Dr John M Tudor, Jr. of East Falmouth, passed away at age 85, on December 19, 2023, in Falmouth, MA, with family present, following a long struggle with Parkinson's. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1938, he attended Hendrix College in Arkansas, and married his college sweetheart, Dodie Blair, in June 1961.

John graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1964, and proceeded to extend his professional journey in Seattle, WA, Albuquerque, NM, Miami, Florida and Little Rock, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas, where he developed the family medicine department. He attained master's graduate degree in medical education at Michigan State University and continued his academic teaching at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT where he served as division chief of Family Medicine. He joined a private practice in Salt Lake City, and then worked as medical director for Cigna Insurance for the state of Utah. Following recognition as Utah Physician of the year, he was president for the Utah Academy of Family Physicians. He was elected president of the national organization, American Academy of Family Physicians, AAFP, in 1992.

Following retirement in 2001, John enjoyed more time with his passions for music, chorus, and the outdoors, seeing National parks as well as international travel. He greatly enjoyed living near family on Cape Cod, MA, and continued volunteer work which he supported all his life. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Dodie Tudor. He also leaves his children, son Gregory S. Tudor and his wife Kate White of Olympia, WA, and daughter, Stephanie M. Tudor and her husband Konrad Hughen, of Falmouth, MA. He also leaves his sister Carol Stanfield of Wyoming, and six grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Owen and Colin Tudor, and Kaylyn and Alanna Hughen. He was predeceased by his parents, Johnny and Winnie Tudor, and sister Jane Bowie.
