Chief, I appreciate all you and Rick have done for me over the years. I hope people realize all you've done for teams in the other dugout. You were a good friend and mentor for almost 14 years. God bless

Chief, you are one in a million. I feel very blessed to have been able to call you my friend. Many years of looking forward to your arrival at NBC and finally having the Heat close enough to watch the first season in Haysville. So many memories. I will continue to support the Heat with Rick taking on his first season without you. We all know you will still be there with us. Love you and miss you..Rest In Peace.

Cheif, you will be missed! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to play for the Heat, for opening your house, your family, and your heart to all of us. So many memories made for all of us former players thanks to you!

Although we never met and only spoke by phone, I felt as if I knew you through your players that came to us. You touched so many players along the way, not only in how to play the game we love, but how to lead their lives. The game will miss you Chief as will the men you devoted yourself to. May you rest in peace.

How many lives can 1 life change? Ask all the players that have been a part of the "Heat" family. I know all the young men that "chief" has mentored thru the years can atest to the strength of charactor they learned while playing for him.
I will miss his smile and huge heart he shared at the NBC tourney. I pray that his family and all his extended family will be comforted in difficult time. I know his legacy will survive.
God bless.

Chief meant so much to Chuck, he was his best friend and more. But Chuck took Chief passing as he thought Chief would want. Chief was always telling Chuck "Don't cry, be a man" and even though Chuck knows that was meant for the games, it has helped him. He will be so missed by all of us. I think Chief is flying like the eagle he loved.

Chief and the Heat were so important in our lives. My wife Janet used to take cookies to their hotel during their stay with the NBC. We followed them since their first time in Wichita. Sad loss for so many fans and friends. Deepest condolences from the Parson's.

What a terrible loss for Haysville. Chief became a big part of our town very quickly. He came and talked to the students at Nelson Elementary BEFORE he had moved his team here. He knew that in baseball and in everything you do, hard work and inner drive could help you accomplish your dreams. He lived that way and he coached, and shared that message with kids of all ages. God Bless him and all of his family.

We're going to miss you Chief. My family & I always had a lot of fun with you & the rest of the Heat from the 1st time you & Charlie brought the team to the NBC tournament. We enjoyed just watching games with you and shooting the breeze in the right field bleachers. There will be an empty space in our hearts whenever we go to Larry D. Peace be with your family.
Your friends,
