Dr. John Vietas

On Friday January 11th, Dr. John Vietas, age 79, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his family. He was the beloved husband of Natalie Pereira. Born in Arlington MA, he was the son of Sophie (Ferreira) and the late Frank Vietas. John was a graduate of NYU Dental School and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Boston University and practiced orthodontics in Dartmouth for over 48 years. He loved fishing, history, cooking and especially spending time with family and friends. John was also a U.S. Army Veteran. John is survived by his children John F. Vietas of Tiawan, Stephanie St. Germaine of Newton, MA, Brooke Lafave of WA, Luke Vietas of Melrose, MA, Lynn Pereira-Schwan of FL and Paul Pereira of RI; siblings Lawrence Vietas of NH and Janet Baum of CT; 6 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation for John will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday, Jan 15th from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M., followed by a Funeral Service at 12 P.M.
