Rose,
It was a great shock to receive your note about Jack's untimely passing. Winnie, Juliana, Andrew and I are immensely saddened to recieve the news.
Jack was the fondest part of the memory of my Bankers trust days. He was of towering statue in warmth, intellect and phisique. He took a new, hesitant, culturally out of his water, new colleague under his wing.
Not being able to visit with Jack regularly was the biggest disadvantage of my moving out to San Francisco. But, everythime I visited New York, I would make a point to see him at his Bankers Trust office. We would pick up without missing a beat!
The untimely departure of Jack has left a big hole in my heart. I shall always miss him!
Rose, please let me know if we can be of help.

Uncle Jack was a special person to so many on so many levels. He always left you with a calm that so few can replicate. He touched so many lives and I feel privalged to have been his niece. My thoughts go our to Aunt Rose for being the strong woman that was always behind him. He knew how strong you are.

Dear Rosi:
I am very saddened by your beloved Jack's passing. I will remember him as an intellectual and kind person, ready to talk politics, finances, music and travel all before going to work in the morning, and at your wonderful gatherings.
Love, Abby

Jack was such an asset on our Dairyfest committee, and was so much fun to work with as well. We will miss his humor and great ideas. God bless you.

Rose,
As your 12th floor neighbors in
Manhattan, we remember Jack for his warmth and wit as well as his skilled service as a bosrd member for Schwab House. We often recall Jack holding forth in a rocking chair at our then annual New Year's Day parties that, alas, we no longer hold. Our thoughts are with you and please, if you are ever in the city, let us know.

Rose,
We have such wonderful memories of our fun and learning with you and John during his years on the American Bankers Association's Tax Committee. From his interest in tax (including Sub S, which he simply enjoyed for the pleasure of learning it) to hearing about making ketchup on your farm, he always had sparkle. We will miss him, but that sparkle with stay with us. Our thoughts are with you.

Rose,
I was deeply saddened to hear first of John's illness and then of his passing. You know far better than any of us what a wonderful man he was but I could never thank him enough for the intellectual gifts he gave me; a love of the Brandenberg concertos and chamber music along with a passion for the works of Patrick O'Brian, Jane Austin and Dorthy Sayers. Plus just chatting with John about any subject. I will miss him.

Dear Rose, Having met you through Allison, I know how generous was your husband. He always left his New York newspapers or periodicals when he visited for the residents to read. Sincerest sympathy.
