John Edward Walmsley

OH my, just ran across his obituary. i went to work for walmsley bearing co. in the early sixties. worked side by side with John until his dad sold the company. never heard from John E after that. I ended up branch mgr for the company that bought Walmsley Bearing and retired after 41 years of service. went to many MSU football games with his dad and mom. sure wish i could talk to someone that knew Johnny in his later years..

John "Johnny" Walmsley and I were baseball teammates for quite a few years, junior high through high school. He was a dedicated athlete, always going full out to do his best. He helped our WSHS Spartans team place 2nd in the city, just one game behind Tim McCarver and Phil Gagliano's CBHS team. Johnny was quite the gentleman then, and I'm really sorry I lost touch with him after our HS graduation.

I am John Edward's cousin and we were close and spent a lot of time around each other when we were both younger. We kept in touch over the years but not very often. He was very athletic and very good at a lot of different sports. He came very close to being both a professional baseball player and a professional bowler later in his life. He was a financial investing whiz and was very successful in this area for many years in his life. He was a very generous, kind, nice guy and would help anyone anyway he could. I liked and loved him a lot and will miss him very much. I had a lot of great times with him.

Mr. Walmsley was a kind friendly man. He died too soon. He will no longer have to endure pain. We appreciated his always kind words and friendliness. May he rest in peace.
