It is hard to think of Uncle John being absent from this world. We will miss his laughter and positive attitude. But our loss is heaven's gain. And it is so pleasant to think of he and Aunt Edna back together again. John, Karen, Janet and Larry, God bless and comfort you. And remember, the crossing from this life to the next is one that we will all make. But one day we will ALL be on the other side of the river. That will be a time of happiness that we cannot imagine.

My grandfather was truly an example of what it means to be a Godly man. One of my earliest childhood memories of him was when I was about 5 years old. We had just arrived to visit for Christmas and I was sleeping in the basement. Around three in the morning I woke up to use the bathroom and heard someone talking. I came up the stairs to investigate and discovered my grandfather in one of the rooms on his knees praying. When I asked him what he was doing he simply replied, "I am talking with Jesus!" I said okay and began to walk out of the room when my grandpa said before you leave can I pray for you. After the prayer I went back to bed. Even though I do not remember what he prayed for me this has always stuck with me because it has reminded me of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "pray continually." My grandfather was a great man of prayer.
