John Gregg "Jack" Wendland, age 77, passed from this life on November 15, 2016 in Oklahoma City.

He joined the United States Air Force at age 17 and had a lifelong career in the Air Force traveling three times around the world serving as the cockpit engineer and retiring in 1977 as Master Sergeant from the Altus Air Force Base after serving his country for 22 years.

He met and married Ruth in Altus on May 25, 1989 and they made their home in Altus before moving to Boydsville. Jack was an excellent provider and loved his family and children. He was a member of the VFW and to say that Jack loved sports would be an understatement. Jack loved all kinds of sports he did not care what it was, he would watch and enjoy it very much.

Jack leaves a legacy of 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
