John Wilkes

WILKES-On Wednesday, November 19, 2008 John Jack Wilkes passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Katherine; his parents; one daughter in infancy; and his brother Ted. John is survived by his daughter Patricia Brewer; son Terry (Aimee); his grandchildren, Shannon Andrews (Jeremy), Tara Smith (Derek), Michael, Shane (Lacey), Angie and Trina (Chris); great-grandson, Karter and great-granddaughter, Belle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was born in Brantford, ON and moved to Winnipeg in 1947 where he met the love of his life, Katherine. Winnipeg was the birthplace of their two children and also the launching place of his career in sales. John enjoyed singing and was a founding member of the barbershop chorus in Regina. He was a very patriotic Canadian and was very proud of his Welsh heritage. He was an avid history buff, Toronto Blue Jays and Saskatchewan Roughrider Fan. John was a great lover of nature and wildlife. After Kay's passing their precious dog Tippy was John's constant and loyal companion. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Derek Nicholls officiating.
