YUSS
JOHN JOSEPH, JR.
Of Hampton Township, in Pittsburgh, PA, passed into the hands of our Lord Jesus on June 15, 2011. He was the son of the late Margaret Reinhardt Yuss and John Joseph Yuss, Sr., of Charleroi, PA. John was the much loved husband of Judy Reed Yuss and the beloved father of Jonalyn Yuss Artzberger and Jill Yuss and her husband, Mark Molnar. His dearly loved grandchildren are Roberta Leah Conway, Nora Lynn Artzberger and Mary Elizabeth Artzberger Ruffing (Zack) along with dear little Troy William Ruffing, his great grandson. He was the devoted brother of Fred Yuss (Darla), Ronald Yuss (Barbara), and brother-in-law, Mark Reed (Germaine). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnephews, all of whom he had great affection. He will be greatly missed by all. John graduated from Charleroi High School in 1954 and attended the University of Nebraska, having earned a full football scholarship. John began his career as an agent in the insurance industry with The Prudential Insurance Company in 1962. Because of his success, he received the President's Citation Award for many consecutive years. In 1967 he was promoted to the position of staff manager and moved to the North Hills of Pittsburgh. As he continued his successful career with Prudential Insurance he received numerous awards leading to his promotion of Brokerage Manager. In 1982, he opened the John Yuss Insurance Agency with the help of his daughter Jill. They have enjoyed a successful business career for the past 29 years. He never thought about retirement since the relationships that he has enjoyed with his clients have meant the world to him. He was truly a "people person" and was loved by all. The John Yuss Insurance Agency will remain in operation with Jill assuming his position. To all of his clients, Thank you for your business over the years. Visitation Monday 1-4 and 6-8:30 p.m., NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA. Service and Interment are private. Arrangements by Neely's.

Betsy, my wife, and I met John and Fred last summer at Frisch's in Penn Hills for the first time. It was a great first meeting for cousins that never knew each other. We talked for hours about growing up in Charleroi and Monessen. All of us shared stories about our lives. It was a pleasure to meet John, I wish that we had met earlier. You have our deepest sympathy.

Dear Mrs. Yuss & Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of Mr. Yuss. He has been our family's insurance agent for at least 40 years. He was very helpful to me when my parents died. And especially helpful when I was having roofing problems and couldn't find the right contractor. He suggested someone and I've been using them ever since.
My prayers are with your family at this difficult time. I'll always have fond memories of Mr. Yuss.

We were so sad to learn today of John's passing. He was our insurance agent for the past 27 years. We always enjoyed our meetings with him as they were more of a visit than just a business meeting. We would talk about anything and everything. John was a gentleman and always made us feel as though he also cared about us personally and not just as clients. We will remember John fondly. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Words cannot express how very sorry I am for your loss. Having had the privilege to meet and know John for 29 years, I clearly understand what an inspiration he was to you and what an impact he made on your life. You clearly walk in his footsteps. His strength and power stood out in such a way that was truly unforgettable to me. John was more of a friend to my wife, son and myself than a businessman.

Sincerely,

Darrell Sr Velouise Darrell Jr Bell

John helped us with our insurance from the time we got married 30+ years ago. He was always so friendly and a pleasure to work with. He also helped our son who is now an adult. He will be missed.
