John Evan Zulch

John Evan Zulch, passed away peacefully at his home at Aldersgate in Charlotte, NC on February 25, 2018. He was 93 years old.
John was born on October 27, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, and was the son of John Zulch and Helen Berthaud.
John was inducted in the Army in 1943 and served with the 148th Infantry Regiment of the 37th Division in Guadalcanal. Upon his return home, John graduated from St John's University, NY.
John was employed by West Point Pepperell as a Sales and Marketing Manager for many years and lived in Larchmont, NY. Upon his retirement in 1994, he moved to Woodloch Springs in Hawley, PA. In 2014, he moved to Aldersgate in Charlotte, NC. John attended Central Church of Charlotte.
He was very devoted to his family and friends. John never met a stranger and was known for his inclusiveness and love of humanity. He went out of his way to lift up others with cheerful greetings and letters of appreciation and support. He will be missed by family and friends as well as the staff at Aldersgate who he was so fond of.
John was predeceased by Edith, his wife of 63 years.
John is survived by his brother, Walter Zulch and wife Mary of Plano, TX, 3 children, John S. Zulch and wife Caroline of Charlotte, NC, Stephen J. Zulch and wife Joyce of Monroe, NY, and Virginia S. Warren of Brewster, MA and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and nieces/nephews, grand nieces/nephews and great grand nieces/nephews.
