Johnnie Greer Davis

Loving mother, grandmother, a great grandmother to one, sister and friend to many, Johnnie Greer Davis, born on August 26, 1943, passed peacefully away in her own home, at the age of 80, on August 25, 2024.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Davis Graf and Jason Davis (Michelle); two grandchildren, Dylan Davis (Bethany) and Kallie Davis (fiance' Michael); one great grandson, Hayes Davis: two sisters, Patsy Greer and Beverly Harper (Doug); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Johnnie was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow W. Greer and mother, Ruth Gordon Greer, and brothers Fred K. Greer and Kenneth L. Greer.

Johnnie graduated from Weston High School, and with the exception of that first year, she wanted to go home, which was made better by her older school mate her Aunt Dorothy, she loved school. With a determination to do well and a lovely warm smile she accomplished much and often received honors and recognition from her classmates and teachers. Johnnie valued her friends and they valued her.

With work and children, she continued her love of reading and learning and over time she was able to gain enough hours to obtain a BA degree. She worked in a number of fields, manufacturing, sales, real estate, logging, and some enjoyable years of working with her son in his business. She was often recognized for her work ethic, her organizational skills and boundless energy.

Johnnie loved books, reading, writing, loved music and dancing and had a period of time of intense interest in art, drawing and painting. One of her passions was renovation or refurbishing, updating houses, she could paint and what she couldn't do she was good at finding people who could. She loved saving old houses, making them better and counted among her best friends the people who worked with her in doing this. All of Johnnie's life she valued the people in her life and formed lasting friendships.

It cannot be emphasized enough the great love that Johnnie had for her family, her two children, who were her best friends, her grandchildren and now a great grandchild. Her work took her to different locations and states but her goal was always to be with family. Johnnie was glad that her family and home that she loved, were here where she grew up, with her extended family and many friends. She will be greatly missed, not a day will go by that we don't think of her.
